Digital watches
Digital watches are characterized by a digital numeric display instead of the clock face with hands. They are no better or worse than analog clocks, but just take a different flavor. For athletic purposes, they are suitable in that they are easier to read in general as a watch with an analog dial. Often they also have interesting extra features. This includes, for example, an alarm clock, a date or a countdown and a stopwatch function. Thus, digital watches are a good companion for sporting activities. Many digital watches have therefore today on heavy-duty nylon straps with Velcro closures.
But just as there are models for the non purely sporting tastes. Of course, there are just as digital watches with leather strap, from classic to elegant, simple and elegant and striking. To view today almost exclusively used LCDs, ie a method which is based on the liquid crystal display. The use of power-hungry LEDs, known as light emitting diodes is by now outdated and obsolete. are hardly used or so-called case of leaves, as for example in the display in train stations or airports still quite common. Equally obsolete are slices or rolls with printed numbers and the so-called Nixie tubes, which functioned on the principle of the glow lamp. The attractiveness of the digital display but could undoubtedly be greatly increased by today's LCDs.
Another advantage of the digital display is also the distinction
of the times, as a representation from 02:00 clock is possible as
well as from 14:00 clock. Thus, digital watches are recognizable
for people who do not speak with the reading of the analog clock
display well.
